How to Make the Most of Your Getting Ready Photos.

The getting ready part of the day is more than just hair and makeup , it’s where everything starts to feel real. With just a little planning, this time can be full of beautiful, candid moments you’ll actually want to remember.

Getting ready on your wedding day isn’t just about checking things off a list. It’s usually the first time the day really starts to sink in.
There’s excitement, nervous energy, laughter, and sometimes a few happy tears.
All of that makes for really great photos.

(1) One of the easiest ways to make this part of the day smoother is to keep the space tidy. It doesn’t need to be spotless, but if you can keep bags, food containers, and random clutter in one area or corner of the room, it makes a big difference. That way, the background of your photos stays clean and the focus stays on you and the people around you.

(2) Natural light helps a lot, too. If you have the option, try to get ready in a room with a window or two. It makes the photos look softer and more flattering without needing any extra equipment or setup.

(3) Small but helpful tip is to have all your details in one place. Things like your dress, rings, stationery, shoes, perfume, or any keepsakes you want photographed should be gathered before your photographer arrives. It saves time and makes it easy to quickly capture those flat-lay shots and little moments that help tell the story of the day.

(4) Think about who you want with you during this time. Some people love having their full wedding party getting ready with them, while others prefer a quieter space with just a parent or close friend. There’s no right or wrong way to do it, but the vibe of the room really shapes how the photos feel.

(5) Don’t worry about “posing” or doing anything special. The best getting ready photos usually come from just being in the moment, having your favourite drink in the morning like a warm cup of coffee, then getting your shoes on, hugging your mom, reading a note from your partner. These are the real parts of the day that you’ll probably want to look back on.

The getting ready hours can go by fast, but they set the tone for everything that follows.
So take a breath, enjoy it, and let it be more than just a checklist.

Small but helpful tip.  Have all your details in one place.
